Funny / Important Reminder

I felt a strong craving a few minutes ago. Afraid I'd cave, I jumped on to SR to post. By the time I fired up the laptop and logged in, the craving had gone.

I just have to remember to breathe through it. The world will not end. The discomfort lasts only a few minutes.

Yes. That is the Moment Of Recovery.

It's that time between a thought and the next action.

Will it be drink? Or anything else. Literally ten million other things to do than that.

Good recognition!

Awesome reminder! It has taken me a really, really, really long time to understand that cravings and other kinds of negative feelings will pass if I just chill and wait. It's very empowering!

Hear hear! You can turn it around by enjoying the power you have when you choose not to give in.

Best way I can describe is it's like a storm brewing inside.

But if you observe, you will notice that your mind is actually stronger then that storm, you just have to sit there and fight it.
