Hi professor D :) |
Hey free! You got this! |
Hey all , I am from the May class too. Day 14 for me and easy Friday so far. Hopefully I don't sip my fav IPAs this weekend. stay strong! |
Oh, man. Same craving here calmself. congrats on 2 weeks! |
ProfD, I seem to be having a slightly better control on cravings last few days. The thing is I am not trying to fight them anymore. I anticipate them, they will come during wine o clock for sure. But i just like let them pass as they are harmless. The harm comes when I start dancing to their tunes. Having said that, I have started loving the talking rain sparkling water - yummy so hydrating, refreshing. |
I'm addicted to green iced tea and lacroix. Also coffee. I like the idea of anticipating the AV/ cravings to come. That's a good idea that I haven't heard phrased quite that way. It takes some of the power away from the urges. It's like an annoying colleague you get used to chatting with and avoiding in the office. I know she's going to come up to me when I'm in the middle of something or forward me a stupid email; I can just delete it and get on with my life as soon as possible. Helpful, thanks! |
Ahhhh. The sugar thing..... alcohol is sugar, basically, at least our bodies process it that way. We are sugar addicts for sure, and it fills a need our body wants in the absence of the alcohol sugar poison!! Finding myself eating dark chocolate covered almonds....a lot lately.....;) Hi calmself. Congrats!!!! |
Great, free2beme! I cant eat almonds since i have massive allergy to them. Having said that, I had a big scoop of Baskin and Robbins Baseball Nut (Cashew Nut) last night. You are right!! it did satisfy my sugar craving. |
Against the common advice, I've been doing a low carb diet and I find it actually works better to stabilize my cravings and emotional ups and downs than eating the junk food. Not sure that works for everyone, though. Sometimes I'm horrified by how much sugar in the form of alcohol I've consumed in the last few years. Gross. |
I have been making crepes, just takes eggs and milk so make a little batch for the fridge. Then when I crave sugar takes 2 minutes to cook one, then add some chopped banana's, drizzle with honey, handful of chopped hazlenuts and grate some 85% dark chocolate on them when done....*drools like homer simpson* |
