Pacing forward 5 months behind Hi to everyone working hard towards a sober future. 5 months complete today and onwards. I have found this a tough and bumpy road with no pink cloud! The worst was as you would expect at the start and things have slowly improved. It's quite hard to quantify or put into words for the benefit of others the changes/improvements as there are so many over such a broad range yet each thing standing alone would be very subtle. So I will say it this way I am in a much better place now mentally physically healthily than I have been for a very long time. I look back in wonder at why and even how alcohol had become so obsessively ingrained into my life. It was only the hypothetical full on face slap from a medical professional that woke me from my poisonously induced state. If I had the foresight I would have got rid of alcohol from my life much sooner. Health and happiness to you all! |
Wonderful Dusti! I'm so glad for you. :grouphug: :c011: |

Congrats on 5 months Dustitoffman :c011: |
Congrats ! It will keep getting better. I agree that the cumulative changes are pretty great. :) |
Thank you all very much. It feels a little self serving posting my month by month achievements however it really means a lot to me and gives me a little extra fuel. I am still having lots of gastrointestinal tests and checks cameras and blood work etc by the doctor and at hospital these are a constant cause of concern for me. It's a painfully slow process. The good news nothing awful has been uncovered so far which is positive. |
Congrats on five months sober! :scoregood Keep going, it gets better. :) |
Congratulations! At five months it was still really really hard for me to deal with but things started to make some progress. |
