I'm not going to make it
My 24 year old son went to a three day festival at the weekend ..Yes drink was involved ..he was ganged up by a bunch of fellas who accused him of raping a girl ..
My son had no idea what they were talking about ..they put a gun to his head threatened to pour acid over his face and rape him ..He's home now and very shaken up he's contacted a solicter who told him not to worry as nothing was reported to guards ..
I don't think I'm gonna make this sober ..
I'm tearing my hair out with worry
Thanks for reading

Cara. I'm so sorry for what happened to your son. It is brilliant that you are sober and present so you can be there for him at this time. Please do not drink. That young man needs you sober.
BB xx
PS It speaks volumes that he came to you because he trusts you with this.

Please try and eat something. Even if it's just toast.
HALT Hungry Angry Lonely Tired. The more of those rattling us at any one point, the worse it is for us. Honestly.
I know it is scary to think about what happened, but he is home now. They did not carry out any of the threats that they issued. He is with you now. Safe. Is there some reason he thinks he is still at risk of them coming after him? Did he know them or the girl at all, or were these random hooligans? Did he report this to security at the festival or was it more messy and chaotic than that?
Hugs to you. And B R E A T H E. Keep going back to breathing exercises. And prayer.

No Anna nothing was reported my son never even met or seen the girl in question he did however see the actual guy who confessed to raping her saying he couldn't take the blame apologised to my son for saying it was him but cried and said they would kill him if they knew it was him
We don't know these people at all
Solicter said not to worry as they have no evidence my son was involved
I'm scared

Cara, please don't drink. I just joined this Forum yesterday. I only have 68 days sober and during those days I've gone through some really negative experiences. I elected not to drink to get me through........... you can too.

Cara, my little brother was accused of such and in a much worse situation than your son- it's a horrible horrible thing to go through.
The best thing you can do for your son, like I did my brother, is to stay sober and stay by his side.
And remember to take care of yourself.
We got through it, and I have no claim to heroics or strength, but if I can you sure can too.
My brother is sober and doing great now. He weathered a year long nightmare. And came out better and stronger on the other side.
Much love and strength,
Del

theres probably someone waking up with a hangover( or still drunk) with some recollection of what happened with their lies and all and hoping the police dont come knocking on their door.
drunks do stupid real good and can be full of fear over their actions the next day.
you dont know the people so they probably dont know you or your son either.
