Practically raced out of bed to get that silver chip this morning. Feeling so happy about that and proud.

Pros: Met a supportive and amazing community through AA, got an amazing sponsor to take me through the steps, stability and clarity of mind, ability to enjoy life without thinking about how to obtain or recover from alcohol, peace with all relationships in my life, more in touch with emotions.

Cons: Still difficult going out to restaurants, isolated myself from current friends that drink, couldn't go to a concert, a couple of rough lonely nights, more in touch with emotions.

Note that I listed "more in touch with emotions" as a pro and a con. Alcohol numbed me out so now I'm started to feel that anger, sadness, irritability, but also love and joy much stronger! SO happy I made the choice to get sober.
