Facing my worst fear...sober
When Dee introduced the word "worry" into the discussion it remnded me of a very good book called The Worry Trap, that I once read. It's a cbt based thing. As I recall it likened worry to being on a buss going to a destination which would be the issue. Somewhere on the journey, worry gets on the buss with you, and starts making noise about the issue. As the bus gets closer, the worry gets louder. It can be silenced by getting off the bus or turning away from the destination. I think the idea was to identify worry for what it is, a passing thought that we have chosen to dwell on, and kick it off the bus at the next stop. Something like that. Worth a read if you can find it.
