Day 5 and feeling ugh
Day 5 and feeling ugh
I wasn’t a daily drinker, but a heavy binger 2-3 days a week, being able to drink 2 bottles of wine or a pint of vodka and beers easily towards the end of it all. I’ve commonly went 2, 3, 4 days without drink a week with no problems. But here I am on day 5 straight and just feeling blah. I still have NO DESIRE for drink, but it’s been a few years I have went 5 days straight, I am ashamed to admit, and I am feeling very tired and kinda achy and feeling random abdominal twinges(this may be overly triggered by anxiety though). Last night I slept really well, a good almost 9 hours straight with the help of Melatonin😊. But still just feel “off”. Is this normal? Just wondering when things will improve!
hate to break it to you, but it will take a little longer for your body/mind and spirit to recover from years of heavy drinking and all that goes with it! the very best thing you can do is NOT expect too much too soon....treat yourself gently as you would getting over any other longterm illness. you are likely to have continued up days followed by blah or ugh days. that will even out IN TIME.
Good job on 5 days! When I heard that from others on my day one, I thought there is no way I can go almost a week without drinking! Turns out We can.......
First few weeks were not great, but passed pretty quick. In hindsight, I am grateful for that. Had I got what I deserved It would have been much worse.

When I wasn't drinking the melatonin made me feel Blah. Give it some time, maybe do something else to help rule out that the melatonin isn't at fault here. I don't take it anymore. I like ambian but with its negative effects doctors are reluctant to prescribe. Otherwise, sadly, my go-to is over the counter.
