Seriously, Day One (sigh)

I need to do this. I want to do this. It’s embarrassing. I’m sure they all know at work. I’m sure I look worse than I think and I know I shake. I’m tired. This sucks. Starting over on a holiday weekend seems foolish. Even with all the support, it feels lonely. Exhausting.

"it feels lonely. Exhausting."

For me, active alcoholism was the loneliest, most exhausting time of my life.

Sobriety has brought greater social connections and increased energy.

Just give it time, okay?

Use SR. Make it one of your support tools. Post every day. Post in the 24 hour thread to show your commitment to sobriety. And join the Class of May to share the journey with others getting sober this month.

Betha (you too, Tonymblue) - The misery can end now! There's no reason why you can't leave that sad old life behind and begin to heal. A beautiful life is waiting for you.
You are never, ever alone.

This, and I would go so far as to say sobriety (more importantly, recovery) has brought me a better life than I ever imagined.

Just today- don't drink today.
