Sobriety Quotes Journal

Folks, Good day! I would like to start a thread to collect inspirational / interesting quotes about drinking and sobriety. I believe this will help all of us to remember and keep us steadfast on the road to be alcohol free for the rest of our lives. These could be your own thoughts or from any famous speaker/book. Let me start with one:

You have a choice during recovery - living with minor temporary discomfort due to not drinking or living with shame, anger, tiredness and guilt the day after. Make your choice today!

This isnít directly related to sobriety- it is from Jocko who is a former navy seal, but it has been helpful for me.

Discipline equals FREEDOM.

There is no such thing as problems!

Just solutions waiting to be created!

Or something along those lines😁

And a little rhyme for you about where it all goes wrong!

The job is going sour,
The job is going broke,
To much Rum, Bacardi and Coke.

If the plan doesn't work,

Change the plan

But never the goal.

If you've forgotten the language of gratitude, you'll never be on speaking terms with happiness.

Maybe not exactly sobriety related, but still very useful in my experience:

It will be alright in the end, and if it’s not alright, it’s not the end!

Nothing new appears unless something old ceases.

If you are trying to control your drinking, your drinking is already out of control.

I had a professor say " Choose your rut carefully"

A patient once told me " You never have to remember the truth"

The devil whispered in my ear, "You're not strong enough to withstand the storm."
Today I whispered in the devil's ear, "I AM the storm."

Not very inspirational but "there's 56kcal in 25ml of vodka, tubs" helps me lol.

Again not exactly sobriety related, but still very interesting for us.
