Day 1
I think you have to remove the thinking that you hope you quit - just quit.
Make a personal one-time commitment.
Follow that up with actions that will keep you going in the right direction.
Welcome to the site. I hope to see you around!

Hi and welcome fardig.
No, don't hope man - do.
You're the central character in this story - you have the power
Make sure that this is your last time. Cover all the bases - make changes, find support, use it.

No more secretly getting hammered, I'm done. I hope.
That sentence is an example of your split personality. You start with NO MORE....then add 'I hope'. The first part is you, the higher level you, the one that knows what you are doing will destroy you. The I hope is your addiction. The doubt, the 'well maybe, I dunno, could fail' voice. Don't listen to that one.

Wow, yesterday was cold and raining so my AV told me I HAD to get hammered because of the weather. No it's beautiful out, so it's telling me that I have to drink because of the weather....Something doesn't make sense here, so that demon on my shoulder can go back to hell for today.
Frick's short comment nailed it for me: the absolute worst thing I have to fear is any small doubt in my own power and commitment. It's the sneakiest form that my AV can take, and it needs to be immediately recognized as false and squashed like a bug...
