I did another meeting last night. My sponsor wants me to start doing service work which I am a bit nervous about. She really cares and gets worried about me. I am running into old friends and starting to make new ones. My neighbour who moved I am no longer talking to on the phone. I am starting to find my voice again after 3 years of been scared to say the wrong thing. I need to find more gratitude though. I still feel sorry for myself too much. The endless days of watching my TV non stop are over. The only thing that worries me is gravitating towards the wrong kind of people again. I need to be around those who are serious about sobriety otherwise I will end up with another drinking buddy. Besides that everything is going great. I am finally putting sobriety first. Besides drinking on payday I would be at 2 weeks. I am going to be helping opening a meeting next week. I can walk much better and hope my issues with money will sort out with a clear head.

How about before next payday, you have a look around Ebay or Amazon or wherever - find something you like for the same price as those two bottles of wine and the second the money hits your account - buy it. That's what I used to do in the early days and it's SO good to look at something special and think 'I wouldn't have had that if I spent the money on wine'

Worked for me babe - and after 16months I have a 50 inch TV and a brand new Samsung phone to show for it.
