Surgery done
So glad your doing better Rar.
I have had limited exposure to morphine. It didnt do a thing for the part that hurt, but I felt great everywhere else !
Take care of yourself Rar and you will be running 5k's in no time !

It's goods to hear your surgery was
a success and that you are home safe
and sound.
I think what makes me upset or mad is
the way doctors give all those strong
pain meds so easily to patients. The very
meds that can get folks addicted to it.
Fentanyl and Percocet, high power meds, opioids,
that work like magic to alleviate pain immediately
Like a quick fix.
I understand pain and no one likes to
be uncomfortable living with it. We
all have been there, done that many
times.
However, you'd think with the opioid
crises the world has they would replace
it with something different.
Look at the people we lost recently
and in the past from addiction to those
strong meds, not being able to cope
thru everyday life without their fix
to keep them pain free quickly.
Fentanyl then Percocet right on top
of each other. Im just shaking my head,
like, NOOOOOO don't do that.
Unless we speak up loudly and firmly
to our doctors that we don't want those
high powers addictive meds, they will
continue to disperse them freely.
Since I have learned about my own
addiction and recovery, I always speak
up and let my doctors know right off
the bat that I am in recovery and that
I don't want anything administered
to me that is narcotic or habit forming.
Sure it might take a little while to heal
properly with pain on low powered meds,
and Im taking responsibility by protecting
my recovery and sobriety life that I take
seriously.
Continue on your path of recovery
pain free moving forward.

@ aasharon; I agree with the high powered meds. Of course I, like everyone else, want the pain to be gone. Alcohol was my doc. However, last year I had Percocet with my shoulder surgery and have it again with this surgery. It helps the pain somewhat, but what I do notice with it is the feeling of 'well being' or at least a sense of being hopeful and/or not as discouraged - more positive, if you will. I don't know if that sense arises from the pain going away or the med acts on that part of the brain. Anyway, I can really understand how these sorts of meds can become addictive. I want to get off of these ASAP,
