making changes

As hard is it is to admit it, I'm at an age where I really need to access my situation and get busy and figure out what my priorities are and get busy accompolishing them. I'm in great shape for someone my age, and might live another 25 years but how many of those years will I be able to do the things I want to do. I'm gonna have cataract surgery starting next week and who knows what's next. I know many people much younger than me with many health problems, so I've been pretty lucky so far. I'm not rich, but maybe it's time to do the things I want to do while I can. I love traveling, meeting people and trying new things. Even if it means prying my wallet open and dipping into my savings, it would be worth it. I have a guaranteed income that is enough to at least provide me a place to live and essentials no matter what. John

You are in a fortunate situation, John.

It is great that you have decided to enjoy life.

Safe travels. Above all, go soberly.

I know I'm a lucky guy. Not everybody gets the chance to do what I can do. I know I might end up with little money left, but that's ok with me. John

You can't take it with you John - but it's good not to have it run out too soon either

best of luck with your surgery

Know what you mean Dee. Just spent 5600 on cateract surgery and another 1000 on auto repairs so I'm broke. Maybe freaking out on all this stuff so maybe it's time to sit back and process all of this. John
