Massage and tequila

About 2 years ago I remember arriving to a massage that I had booked extremely hungover (and possibly still drunk) from the festivities I engaged in the night before. I spent the entire hour of "relaxation" worried I smelled like tequila, jittery, and extremely uncomfortable. Then I shelled out a pretty penny and went home. I used to think I was a responsible drinker, with an occasional lapse in judgement, but it's these types of memories that proves otherwise. It took me a few more months of probably more bad decisions, before I finally made the choice to change things.

Today I celebrate 546 days (or 1.5 years) without a drop of booze and celebrated with a massage this morning!! What a difference a year-and-a-half can make! Of course there are still hard days, but in the big scheme of things life couldn't be better! My marriage is better than ever, I am a happier, more confident person and a better mom, I paid off $6,000 in credit card debt, and the only jittery feeling I felt during my massage this morning was the baby in my belly that I am expecting at the end of this year!!

I always thought life would be boring without alcohol. But realistically I just had no clue how good it could really be. For those of you still struggling, give sobriety a chance! No matter how hard things get now, they are still drastically better than the way they were! <3

So glad to hear you are still sober. I followed your struggles to quit for a while. This post has lifted my spirits.
