Hello all, I’m new to this. I’m a 25 year alcoholic. 43 years old in total. I’m in trouble with the law due to another DUI. My father comitted suicide 3 weeks ago. I know that I need A.A. I have reached out to friends I know in the program. I’m hoping court doesn’t just stick me in a jail cell with no hope to work a program. I’ve never really detoxed before. I have court on Monday. And my fate will not be in my hands as far as legal issues go. But I know I need to quit drinking. I’ve lost almost everything because of it. I want a life. I want to not agonize any longer. For those that read this... thank you for taking the time.

Thank you. I’m terrified. But if taking me out of society keeps me from drinking again.. so be it. It’s a misdemeanor DUI. But my 3 rd in 10 years. And in a tough jurisdiction. I detoxed myself. Reading now I shouldn’t have done that
