Day One For The Last Time

Hi, today will be the last day one for me. I recently did eight days so I know I can do this. A year ago almost to the day my stepdaughter moved out to go to college and that’s when the drinking started. She’s moving back home today and what better time to quit.

Welcome back to SR, SWB, and to sweet sobriety.

What a perfect day, indeed!

Welcome back to SR SWB. Every day is a good day to quit and be sober. Sounds extra special for you that you'll have your stepdaughter home again. Hang in there. .

Don't "figure" too long. You've struggled to gain any lasting sobriety. I don't say that you shame you, but to point out that to continue with doesn't work is pointless. For most of us, doing what makes us the most uncomfortable is more likely to work. Usually that discomfort comes from admitting we are alcoholics, powerless against alcohol, and need to do more than promise ourselves we don't drink.

Good luck.

Have you thought about making an action plan SWB?

My most recent sober time was 8 days which ended Monday. My mistake the last two times was creating an excuse to go out in the evening, and then buy alcohol. So my new focus is once I’m in I will not go out again.
