Day 11. Huge sugar cravings aswell.

Don't forget how much sugar alcoholic drinks have. And your body is obviously not getting that anymore.

Sugar 'feels' good. It releases dopamine....a chemical a lot of addicts struggle to release in early abstinence. Substance replacement. But its a lot better than drinking so if it helps in the early days, enjoy!

Whenever I had cravings early on, I indulged myself with ice cream for the first few months and it worked very well.

Eventually I was able to cut back and didn't feel the need for it beyond very occasionally.

This is very common in early recovery. The cravings will subside after 3-6 months. Don’t worry too much about any weight gains, as the weight will come off again.
Initially I gained 5 pounds, but I lost it all again and then some.

4 an a half months almost and I'm eating chocolate like it's going out of fashion
I simply can't get enough
So don't worry about it
As long as I'm not drinking poison I'm quite happy to munch away xx

Yes you’re replacing the sugar you were consuming with boooze. My advice is enjoy, it does subside over time.

Too much choclate or sugar may be contributing to your other problem.
