1 Year Sober Today - Reflections on the changes Wow. One year sober. And it was a BIG day today. I've been studying real estate since last November, passed the three classes. Today I passed the state exam. Time to get bizzy and back to work. First a celebration....going to Northern California for some concerts tomorrow (Steven Wilson in SF/LA/SD on three consecutive nights) with a friend who's in from Australia. In November I'll return the favor and see three concerts with her in OZ - Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne (Hi Dee!). What a difference a year, and sobriety, makes. 5/9/17 - Just entered rehab, multiple health issues 5/9/18 - Clean bill of health 5/9/17 - On medical leave from an unsuitable dead-end job with a toxic group of people 5/9/18 - Ready to launch my own career and be my own boss...and potentially make a lot more money....with a state license 5/9/17 - Nearly unconscious, not knowing where I was, multi day blackout 5/9/18 - Clear and present me. Enjoying every moment of every day in technicolor. 5/9/17 - Drinks per week - 90ish 5/9/18 - Zero 5/9/17 - 2 prescription pills (including 200mg trazadone) and 3 OTC just to sleep at night 5/9/18 - 1/4 of a trazadone (25 mg) a night, weaning off, occasional melatonin. Lifelong insomniac 5/9/17 - Blood pressure not completely controlled on 3 medications 5/9/18 - Blood pressure normal without medication 5/9/17 - Uncontrolled bipolar disorder, florid mania, deep depression 5/9/28 - Back on medication which works, no sign of mental health issues 5/9/17 - Weight 209 5/9/18 - Weight 160 5/9/17 - No muscle tone whatsover, 32% bodyfat 5/9/18 - Growing muscle, 18% bodyfat 5/9/17 - Staggered gait from beginning neurological damage and leg muscle apathy. Couldn't walk a 1/2 mile 5/9/18 - Hiking 5 miles in steep hills in about an hour 15 5/9/17 - Wore tight 36" waist jeans 5/9/18 - Wear comfortable 30" jeans. Stylish Bonobos, they make my ass look great! At least the salesperson thought so... 5/9/17 - Isolated, celibate, scared of relationships 5/9/18 - Dating and sexual again. Working on the man who could be the next Mr. Timmo. He just doesn't know it yet. Here's to more years like this for ALL of us. |
Hi Mindful, Let me be the first to congratulate! What a nice job, you should be really proud of yourself! Oh, and love the stats, very helpful! I’m still stuck in those 36” jeans, but the trend is downward as well! |
