I mess up

Hello all,

I have gone stretches (like, a year) without drinking. I am an alcoholic. 2 duis, could be even worse.

I just got smashed last night. Bottle of wine was out (*why?*) so I drank it. And 7 beers. And another bottle. First time in a year. I am so ashamed. I do not handle stress well and used to cope with getti g drunk.

I feel so dirty, so sinful, so worthless

Hi and welcome

how did you stay sober for a year? what was working for you then?

If stress is a problem, maybe thats an area to work on - what would be some more effective ways to deal with stress?

Not the most neutral of usernames but welcome to SR.

Why did you stay sober for so long before last night?

I hope you are feeling better this morning and can put last night behind you. The main thing is to get back up and start working on your sobriety again. No need to beat yourself up. :)

keep posting it will help!
