My sick list....

Sick of lying.
Sick of hiding.
Sick of obsessing.
Sick of blacking out.
Sick of sneaking around.
Sick of going to work early so as to dispose of empties at the nearby bottle bank before anyone sees me.
Sick of alternating shops.
Sick of looking ten years older than I am.
Sick of making false promises to myself.
Sick of keeping n coming back to SR and not really trying.
But most of all.....I am sick of the resentment I feel to those close to me on a daily basis because I perceive them to be interfering with my drinking by just being around. I hate that I feel that way. I am disgusted by it.
Basically, I am just sick of me.
I cant go on being like this.
I have to do something about it now.

No more sickness.
Thanks for reading my pity list.
I want the help of all of you.

Once I got sick of thinking about the problem and started working on the solution I stopped feeling so sick all the time.

Don't stare in the rearview mirror for too long. It isn't the direction you are going.

What I'm saying is - be careful your AV isn't still running the show.

Reciting the reasons to embark on this new path can help establish commitment and resolve - important elements.

Dwelling on the reasons to embark on this new path never actually moved me down the path. It kept me right where I was and eventually led to relapses.

Nothing says "I'm doing something new" more than doing something new.
Get action.

You can do this.

Dwelling is I think, what I have been doing. Being lethargic in my attitude and not putting my 'wants' into real action.
I am starting to recognise this in myself now.

Cuckoo - that was mostly my list too. Also, sick of fooling myself into thinking I could ever have 'just one'.

Cuckoo and KG - there is absolutely no doubt that you can do this. I drank most of my life, & now have 10 yrs. sober. I once lived for it - and now it rarely crosses my mind. It's great to have you both here with us - be proud of your desire to reclaim you lives.

Thank you Hevyn. Its good to be here and feel part of a huge family who want to help ☺
I gave up a big addiction to cigs the same time you gave up booze. I no longer ever think about smoking either.

It sounds like your ready for a new life. When we get sick and tired of being sick and tired, we get motivated to do something about it. You won't regret your decision to quit drinking.
