Welcome back Jastelf. Did you follow any type of formal recovery program or plan in the past? Maybe it's time to start doing so? Either way, glad you are back and hope we can help.

Welcome back Jastelf. Declaring a Day 1 is a good first step. I winged my quit the first time. Didn't work. The other times I tried a little harder and white knuckled it. Though I had some sobriety time, those didn't work too well either. I was reading the posts and threads on SR on what others did to get and remain sober, but it wasn't sinking in. This time (104 days ago), I began to actually practice what others were doing. I started making a plan. My plan incorporated escape routes for social situations, how I would handle my triggers, how would I deal with depression, etc. I'm always tweaking my plans. The folks here on SR are the main component of my plan.

Maybe time for you to start your own plan. I wish you well. Stay close and post often. It will help.

Welcome back, Jatself. I am sorry to hear that you have been struggling.

Did you follow a Plan for recovery last time?

There is a very good thread on that subject.

I will post a link in a minute.

The link Leigh posted is a good one. I couldn't 'wing it' because I found myself in too many situations where the only response I had at hand was to drink.

Get some more tools for the toolbox jastelf and put some elbow grease into actively not drinking - you won't regret it

Welcome back!

As others have said, it's good idea to have a plan in place to remain sober and to recover.

Nope. Just winging it.

That rarely works as a recovery strategy.

Why not give AA a chance?

I don’t know much, but I have gotten myself to 197 days by going to AA meetings, meeting others there and talking with them about the solution. Try a meeting if u haven’t already. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at all the help and support you can get there.

don’t drink no matter what.

Hi there. Hope your feeling motivated and thinking of how to keep things moving forward. I found checking in here everyday kept/keeps me on the straight and narrow.

All the best
