100 days - how wonderful is that, Rar!? You are a miracle.
I remember feeling so much better at around 3 mos. I love your positive attitude. Thanks for being part of us.

Hey Rar well done on the first 100👍

I have reached a milestone also today at 111 days.
111 days sober before Christmas and now 111 days sober after.

Those few days drinking at Christmas took a whole lot of getting over for me.
I am so glad that you did not make that same mistake.
Where we are now is a far better place than where we have been, may we have the strength and resilience to continue on this positive road.
Dusty😎

That's great news Rar. Also great to have you as a member of SR. Your story of getting and staying sober is an inspiration to others going through the same thing. Your strength and persistence is nothing short of awesome. John

Many years ago i had the tv on Dr. Phil.
I don't recall what the whole show was
about, but i did take one thing that he did
share with me and have never forgotten
it after all these yrs.

"If it isn't in the house, you won't eat it."

Not only have i used it for alcohol but
i also use it for food and for other things
that are not healthy for me.

If, it isn't in the house, you/I/we wont
eat/drink or use it.

Congrats on moving forward one
day at a time.

I think that's great advice, Sharon, but sadly it isn't going to work in my house. Not only is there an abundance of my husband's beer, but also he has a huge sweet tooth - cookies, candy, crackers, cereal, etc. When I was first diagnosed as a prediabetic 7 years ago, he was really good and wouldn't even buy carb laden stuff. Now, he's had enough of any personal sacrifice and given up on that. I am managing with the beer there. I have to get stronger with the other stuff. I do great during the day now, and only eat that stuff after I've already gone to bed. I don't just eat little bits - I eat tons of it.
It's becoming a big problem for me. Thanks for the advice. I agree. Maybe he'll reconsider his sweets until I get a handle on this. The beer is not an option for him.

I didn't understand your situation at first
Rar but now i do. Thank you for sharing
your situation with me.

I'm an early to bed person mainly because
i don't want to stay up and eat, plus i don't
like sitting thru all those commercials.

Anyway.....

Maybe you can invest in a personal nutritionist,
someone who will walk with you step by step in
teaching you what foods will be healthier for you
to eat. Foods and meals suited for your own
body.

What works for one person may not necessarily
work for another because we are all made up
differently inside.

No one ever has to go thru anything alone
or by ourselves. And neither do you.

Begin with doing the footwork by searching
for someone to work with you. Ask, your doctor
for suggestions, point you in the right direction.

In asking, you shall receive.

Stay strong and start putting your health
and yourself as top priority in getting what
you need to be the best healthiest person
you can possibly be moving forward.

Thanks again Sharon. I pretty much know about my nutritional needs. I really believe I have an eating disorder. I have been googling it and I think it's "night eating disorder". I've had this for years and spoken with my doctors, but because I'm not overweight, they are not concerned. Because I get up to eat, my sleep is interrupted and I'm getting only 5-7 hours a sleep a night. I think one of the reasons I started to drink in large quantities was to self medicate so I could sleep. I have restless leg syndrome too.

Have you seek out recovery meetings
in your area? AA and OA? Both programs
have a guideline in helping work thru
all issues that would keep us in our addiction.

Having support there just like it is here
in SR helps a lot, just like the progress
you already reached with your 100 days.
That in itself is huge to achieve.

Rootin for you with each powerful
step you take moving forward.

Brilliant job on 100 days, Rar! It's great that you came here to post before acting on cravings. The people here at SR are so caring and decent. Wishing you continued strength on your sober journey.
