I just saw this on facebook: "God never promised the absence of storms in our lives, but he did promise to walk with us through them."
I think you know that you can't find the peace that you are looking for in a bottle.
you want peace? awesome!!!
youre going to have to act to get it.
stop digging. drop to your knees, ask for help, call your sponsor, and get back to meetings( didnt you say recently you were going to do that?).
peace shall not be found via drinking, Horn.
Have you read the Promises of AA? The AA promises are found on pages 83-84 of Chapter 6, "Into Action" in Alcoholics Anonymous, written by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob. The 12 promises of AA are presented as part of working Step 9, which involves making amends.
The 12 promises of AA are as follows:
If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are halfway through.
We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend the word serenity, and we will know peace.
No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others.
That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows.
Self-seeking will slip away.
Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change.
Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us.
We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.

I'm sorry its rough horn but nows the time to lean on the support you have and stop obliterating yourself with booze.
You can strike out on a new path or stay wallowing in the mus at the crossroads..
I know which one I'd pick,

Thanks everyone. I am in the road. Been spending a bunch of time in airports and offices. Very stressed. Hoping to get him me tonight and rest. At least I will be home. I’m also getting to a meeting if I get in early enough this evening. I am sober right now. Hanging on.
horn, there isnt a requirement to go to or be at a meeting to start the steps. there isnt a requitement to be at a meeting to read the big book either.
without realizing it, i did the first 2 steps before i even went to a meeting

True. I have actually done the first two. But because of my relapse my sponsor wants to start over.
