Six weeks
Six weeks
This weekend is six weeks sober.
I can hardly believe I’m typing this. I’ve tried and failed for years, not making it past day 2, not even when I was vomiting blood. It is amazing the grip this demon can have on you and your mind gets so tired you no longer believe you have a chance and are just waiting to die.
It has been tough, and my sleep is still pretty messed up, but I’m doing pretty well. Tonight was really tough, but I’m in bed and still alcohol free.
I’ve also lost around 12 lbs which has been an unexpected benefit.
I just want to say, I suppose, never stop trying. Keep trying and looking for better ways to succeed until you can. Never give up.
I need to go in for a blood liver test follow up since my numbers were elevated 2 months ago (though ok the month before that). I’m hoping that bloodwork comes back better.
Thanks everyone.
