Day 2

Day one done and dusted.
I am experiencing some discomfort behind my right rib cage (it tends to move around a bit !) Which is scaring me a bit. I know you are all going to holler in my ear to see a doc but I cant face that yet (and I know that sounds so lame).
Going to focus on total abstinence from alcohol and a healthy diet with tons of water and see how it goes for a bit.
Will check back in with you guys.

Congrats on day 1. What is your plan on days that are harder than others? How long and how much were you using if you don’t mind answering . Best of luck!

Hi BiggerReasons.
Too much.....over a bottle of wine a night for way way too many years.
Feeling like this niggly discomfort is a real wake up call.
Why would I do that to myself for so long. Hoping I havent caused serious damage.
As us alcoholics are good at.....I am obsessing over this now. Uurrgghh

Well, you've got two choices: 1) quit; 2) continue drinking.

If this is your day 2, go to a doctor to get meds so you can get off safely.

Day 2 is great. After you've been sober for a time, maybe see a doctor to get the all clear?

I think it's more important to see a doctor during acute withdrawal.

Good job on day 2, Cuckoo. It would be a good idea to talk with your doctor; they can prescribe meds to help with any withdrawals, too. I had pain in my right side also, and when I stopped drinking it went away. Our bodies are very resilient and the liver has amazing regenerative ability, thank God.
It took me a long time to achieve sobriety, but now I have 27 precious months that I guard like a priceless treasure (because it certainly is!)
I wish you all the best on your sober journey.
