Stew...listen to this song while looking in the mirror. It's HARD,but it helped me get over the 'hump'.

Hey, Stewy-- I'm sorry you felt I was 'bombarding' you with talk of rehab; it's just that I am sharing my very painful experiences regarding what I had to do, and others are taking the time to kindly do the same. I assure you that I was as resistant as you or almost anyone when the question of inpatient treatment came up. I was adamantly against it until I really had no other choice when my therapist and friends threatened to have me detained under the Baker Act, (a law in Florida where you can be locked up for three days if you're considered a danger to yourself or others.) By then I was exhausted anyway and won the battle by surrendering. It was a choice that I have never regretted.
I'm a musician too. Music means the world to me, and helps in my recovery to this day. I was in a band with guys I thought of as family but got canned after ten years because I became unreliable and kept missing gigs. We're not doing the art we love any service by going at it drunk---Iistening back to recordings, my sober playing is so much more musical and coherent than when I was wasted and unhappy all the time.
I have complete faith that you can do this, Stewy. I hope today is a sober one for you.

We all see that you genuinely want to stop, you just gotta shift things around a bit. I'm really good at saying what I'm not willing to do too. In fact I do it every day. What I'm not quite as aware of is what I'm saying I am willing to do.
I'm not willing to take the trash out until it's practically overflowing. I am willing to live in a messy house. I'm not willing to put myself out of my comfort zone to get the career I want. I am willing to stay in a job I hate and continue essentially living paycheck to paycheck.
You're not willing to go to meetings, consider other forms of treatment, change your social groups, etc. You are willing to stay on this hamster wheel and continue to be fed up with your lifestyle.
So you're right, it all comes down to you and your mindset. Change your thoughts, change your circumstances. Courtesy of the book "Unf*ck Yourself: Get Out of Your Head and Into Your Life".

Your daughter, your parents--it's all been real and serious to them throughout your drunk absences.
Real to them, ye
t their suffering does not seem real to you.
Why is that?
Be compassionate to yourself, but please be honest as well.
