I'd also respectfully suggest that hope and luck and...aren't actual plans for getting sober. Perhaps you will choose to set a time frame for being sober - fine. What would you actually DO to support that 30, 60, 90, one year decision?
For any kind of lasting sobriety - and I whole heartedly concur with the others that a return to social drinking is almost always a pipe dream for us alcoholics- an action plan is critical.

I was sober for a year and a half and life was great, I thought I could be a social drinker for a night. Even switched from spirits to wine. It ends up catching up with you. Mind yourself
