Day 2

Hi All,
I'm on day 2 and determined to make this the last one.
Doctor prescribed a Benzo which I've taken in very small doses along with eating pure and drinking a lot of water.
Last night was first night of sleeping sober in a very very long time. I was dreading it but aside from being a bit restless, pacing around a bit a time or two, I made it through pretty well. I feel fine today other than the familiar dread that I have to say goodbye to the booze. With the dread is the hopeful feeling emerging that I made it a full 36 hours now and that I can keep this going if I make it my priority.
Looking forward to this community.
Tilth
p.s. the Benzo's scared me but the doctor assures me that I only get this one week (5 days actually) and that the dosages are small. Last think I need is a different addiction so I am using the bare minimum of the prescription.

Well done on Day Two.

A week's worth of benzos is pretty common for medical detox.

As far as the dread of giving up alcohol? Try to list out and remember WHY you chose to stop. All those things will be waiting for you IF you pick up a drink again.

Sobriety is so so so much better but it's a bit difficult and uncomfortable in the beginning. That's okay, it doesn't last.
