Get Addicted To Something Good
Thats what Im learning as I progress.
Find something. Maybe go back to something you used to enjoy before alcohol got you here. Or use the multitude of resources available out there to start something new. Maybe do a list of possibles - for example you might try running , if thats too boring you might join an aqua class , or something less physical - the list is mind blowing.
You will enjoy something new eventually Im sure.
Then if addicted is too blasphemous a term - become absorbed , engrossed , get involved.
Life can be great again when youre ready - I am.

Hi Dave! I’ve stumbled across a few comments you’ve wrote and I think your “thing” should be writing, you’ve a great way with words! When I think of things I loved the first thing that jumps out is SHOPPING either for shoes or dresses, bags or stuff for the kids or the house! Lol I might make my way down the list as I think not only will I find myself sober I’ll find myself single lol!!
I have actually thought of taking something new up! I always to learn how to horse ride! I’m heading to treatment in 2 weeks for 5 weeks and I’m thinking when I come home it’s top of the list, and am going to suggest it my 12 year old girl so it’s something WE can both do together each week! 💖

I took up unicycling. It's fantastic. One you get to where you can ride a few feet the feeling it gives you is quite habit forming. Kinda like a cross between surfing and flying. It is physically exhausting to you learn how. Great for the body and mind.
