Got to stay strong as summer comes..
Ok back again,
Did 5 months Aug - Dec last year - fell off at Christmas
Now up to 3 months from 1st Jan this year
NOT GONNA FAIL THIS TIME!!!
Summer is on the way here in the UK (apparently)
and my addictive voice seems to think it's time to wake up.
he seems to think when the sun comes out a couple of cold beers won't hurt ...
logical brain knows they will !
NLP - think how great you'll feel in the morning, - remember the reasons why you cannot drink alcohol, that you accept ..
let the mental tug o war begin !!
to everyone else on this journey,
i'm clearly not an expert, but what i can say is that the cravings really really do subside after a couple of months, it can seem impossible to even believe that when you're in your first week but they do...
but you got to keep your guard up cos they keep lurking!

Glad you posted - and I agree with Dee....I also find that it doesn't have to be a battle or tug of war so much as a changed way of living with my chosen program of action (AA - others around here have success with different plans). Having something to structure me and teach me how to live - not to fight- has been the most important discovery of my life.
Best to you.
Best to you.
Hi Daveman
Seems like our journey has been similar, both now at 100 days after a slip.
I am also a little worried how the UK summmer will affect resolve as there is years of mental programming that need to be overcome.
I can not remember a summer without alcohol so that's a good enough reason to keep my head down and carry on.
It will be nice to get through all the layers of recovery from years of abuse and embrace the real person underneath faults and all.

Well done Daveman.
Summer was always going to be my downfall but this year it wont be.
I agree with all the previous responses above from some experienced folk.
I was (from near Liverpool UK) always more Beach Boys than Beatles - thus my blue eyed positivity .
Unforunately so blue - eyed that it blinded me to where being so blasé could lead.
This summer playlist will include Aspartame's Greatest Sips.
Regards
