Hi. weekenders.
I spent the entire yesterday with freakish fiver of 38.7C (google converter says that it would be 101.6 F).
It started right in the morning and first I thought my thermometer was broken.
Another issue was that I had zero medicine at home. Downside of living alone - when you are on your own, you are on your own.
I "let my body battle" till 4 p.m. hoping that the temperature will go down. When it didn't get any better I had no choice but to drag myself to the nearest drug store and get some medicine.
I was totally incapable of anything yesterday but staying in bed and watch movies or sleeping. Even reading was too much to endure.
Crazy, but even with this kind of fever I felt somewhat better if compared to my worst hangovers.
I am better today. Not happy with stuffing myself with lots of anti-flu pills, but oh well.
Have a good one, everyone)

Sorry to hear that you have what sounds like the flu or at the minimum a nasty cold MidnightBlue. I have never found anything that makes it go away really but at least over the counter painkillers do their job and make it endurable. I hope it doesn't linger.

Good morning SR weekend warriors.
This is such a good thread and timely. I love reading about everyone's journey.
I hsve watched 2 sunrises and sets on my lake. My dogs don't know which door to ask to go out to pee... too many choices!
In some ways I don't think I would like the person I was pre alcoholism as much as the person I am, now sober.

Nice to see you MidnightBlue, sorry you're sick. NetiPot! I hope you're past the worst of it.
Saturday hangover-free. That just never gets old. It's been raining for days. Well, I'm in Seattle, so.
Have a great day, all. Put a wall between you and alcohol.

The great thing about SR is that we don't have to do any of this by ourselves..... you can do this......and we are all right here with you. ♥

Well a busy day is coming to an end.
The weather has been perfect. The dentist wasn't too bad, although I have to get a tooth out next week - knew it was going to happen, but had been putting it off - hey - why bother taking care of yourself when you are trying to drink yourself to death. My brain was so screwed up.
Things are being put into place - I'm starting to take care of myself again.
Went shopping before coming back home - had a thought that some wine would go nicely with dinner, but just pushed the idea gently aside and it seemed to work.
Will keep busy tonight just in case though.

This is my 4th sober weekend and I'm still enjoying sobriety far more than a drunk weekend.
Last night I saw a neighbour getting his drink in (used to be friends but we aren't now and I know he has a drinking problem too) and I just thought- I know he'll drink at least two bottles of wine, might feel good for a while but he'll be hungover as anything tomorrow. I used to be like that, then just keep drinking throughout Saturday and Sunday. I used to walk into work on Mondays and feel like I'd been hit by a bus and I know why now. Alcohol was just wrecking me. Now I enjoy my weekends, I'm productive, I sleep better and I'm finally starting to do things I only thought about.
