Haha no actually please don't sing I don't want you upsetting your neighbours on account of me😂

Hi everyone and thanks for the support that I have received during some extremely tuff and uncomfortable times.

At this point I am feeling much steadier, calmer, better in so many ways.

The longest I have remained abstinent was 111 days pre Christmas 2017 when in a moment of madness I decided to include alcohol over the festive week. That was a big bad mistake.
I resumed abstinence ASAP Jan 2018 and went through full crappy withdrawal!

To take the phrase from Independence Day
"I'm back"😂

My plan is to continue and keep continuing!

My question to you.
Did you experience significant improvement beyond 90 days and what was this?

Congrats on 90 days Dustin.

90 days was kinda the point that I began looking at my recovery as permanent.

Nice job! For me, I continued to feel stronger and stronger after the 90 day point. Like you, I relapsed previously (anywhere from 30 days up to 11 months) and I knew that this time was different. I kept tweaking my plan as time moved forward and it helped.

Congrats on 90 days! This is a huge milestone!

Congratulations on 90 days .
After my initial crappy withdrawal there was never any specific amount of days that I noticed different , no milestone had any effect on me . I did relapse at 8 months but it was nothing to do with the days sober causing unwanted effects like the moon has an effect on the earth . To me time is just time .

That's brilliant Dusty! Congrats!:-)

I'm on day 18, would love to see more physical changes. I think my skin is a bit clearer, definitely less puffy looking eyes in the morning but I'd like the redness in my cheeks to reduce. I'm 36 and quite pale so I find it noticeable but maybe it's just me

Immediately after stopping blood pressure tends to rise and will add to flushed skin. The good news is that flushed skin puffy eyes skin condition hair condition that has been caused by the effects of alcohol is mostly reversable. My facial.skin is back to fully healthy condition and palour. I saw marked improvement between month 1 and 2 on this with the added bonus of some weight loss that started without dieting.

Wonderful news - 90 days sober! We're so happy for you, Dusti.

I'd been drinking 30 yrs. So I spent quite a few of the early days being resentful & filled with anxiety. At 90 days those feelings began to be replaced with gratitude - & the feeling of having been let out of jail. It had been a way of life for so long.

Congratulations, Dustin! 90 days is fabulous and song and celebration is def in order. After 90 days I felt much more clear-headed and secure in sobriety and I noticed lots of physical improvements, too. About that time my rosacea and neuropathies in my hands and feet began improving--I just looked better and could stand looking at myself in a mirror without anger and horror.
Wishing you all the best on your continuing journey of sobriety--you rock!

Rar
Thank you for bringing the music to the celebration!

Hevyn
Yes the ball, chain and cuffs are definitely off!

Verdantia
I certainly feel more leveled and less volatile than with early sobriety.
The celebration consisted cinnamon hot cross buns untill full and i can tell you they were delicious😋

Thumbelina

Congratulations Dustitoffman!
There's something about that 90 day thing that really feels great isn't there?
In response to your question about whether it gets any better I'd have to say YES!!!!!
I'd say at 90 days I was still very poor in my adulating skills and my ability to cope with things was still.....erm.....mixed let's say. Then again I had done very little other than out the bottle down (she said like that was no big deal - it was a HUGE deal)
Every month that goes by I can see improvements in all areas. In particular at the 6 month stage I had a big experienced quite a surge of energy, positivity and all round wellness.
The best thing is the continued feeling of freedom and hope. Plus the ever growing confidence that I can keep this going forever.
Great job on 90 days and for the sake of humankind I won't sing too loud!
