Losing it.
Just found out I'm pregnant. Haven't been able to stay sober longer than 3-4-5 months in my life. Much less 9.
To say I'm terrified is an understatement.
I feel like I'm having a heart attack.

I think teaorcoffee is right JT - whatever is happening all we can do is live our lives one day at a time. That goes for recovery too.
You can get and stay sober and you can be a great mom to this little one.

Don't worry about staying clean for 9-months just worry about staying clean today. Keep that attitude and you'll be at 9-months before you know it.
Hey sweetheart - the pregnancy hormones will kick in and trust me, they are a better high than anything you ever drank
Congratulations babe - like others have said ' don't overthink it' but do be aware.
You'll be an excellent Mum - youre already (without even knowing it) reaching out to protect your baby xxx

You can do this!!! I was terrified too, but it turned out to be easier than I expected. Focus on the baby, and not the fact that you can’t drink. Think about all of the changes that are happening everyday and how fast and incredibly cool that is - you can grow a person! That worked for me. And when I allowed myself to be happy and amazed about it, it was easier not to drink. When I got down or scared (and I had a tough pregnancy, lots to be scared about), and the happy feelings wouldn’t come, I just thought about having to take care of a child with severe developmental problems for the rest of its life al due to my choices, and that scared me straight. Terrible, but that’s what worked for me.
So, breathe. You’ve got this. And come up with a plan. If you have a “happy place”, give yourself permission to go there as much as you want. And if you’re at all excited about the pregnancy, let yourself feel that fully. Luxuriate in it! Those happy feelings helped me immensely.
Finally, as another poster said, your hormones will kick in. When they do, it’s awesome!!!! I loved being pregnant just for that optimism and sense of well-being that the hormones gave me.
Good luck, mama!!

it happens one day at a time.

Thank you guys for all the support I've read each and every post and they all have given me inspiration. Going to bed with a smile on my face tonight, appreciating another sober day.
Growing a person. Yup. Pretty crazy stuff.
