Withdrawal question

Hi everyone! I'm new to this and new to sobriety. It's been tough! I'm going to AA, but I don't have a sponsor yet (working on it). I drank 1-3 bottles of wine a day for 12 years. My last drink was about 35 hours ago. I haven't had withdrawal symptoms, except a headache and feeling... Not so great. Does this mean that I'm out of the woods? I'm worried that I'll go back to work tomorrow and start shaking and sweating in front of my co-workers.

We can't give medical advice, and everyone is different so it's hard to say.

I can saw that near the end of my drinking days I would get the shakes the morning after a night of drinking (so that's probably about 8 - 10 hours later) and I never had a problem with excessive sweating.

I assume that you will have another nights sleep tonight before work tomorrow, so you might be ok. But if you start feeling bad at work it would be convenient to blame it on the flu which is particularly bad this year. That would also give you a good excuse to see a doctor.

I agree. Seeing your doctor is always a good idea.

Whatever you do, don't drink!

Withdrawal is so different for everyone. For me it took a turn for the worse abt 2 days in. Please contact Dr. if you have any concerns. In retrospect I wish I had done a medical detox from the start, but that was my journey, not yours. You are doing great, keep it going!
