Another near disaster

I went out last night and got real drunk and almost did something I would have really regretted. Its a miracle I didn't, I feel terrible and want to quit drinking again

A strangely wrapped gift, perhaps?

I'm sure you know that most, if not all of us have regretted one thing or another. Good day to look forward to no more alcoholic mistakes.
best to you today

I can't drink safely anymore. I simply cannot control my words and actions while intoxicated. I've lost so much to alcoholism. So baffling and cunning indeed.

Sounds like hitting up some AA meetings is exactly what you need.

Yeah i know, im lucky if i have time to get to one meeting a week. Family, 4 hours of commuting daily and a full time job are all huge commitments. SR might be more important than ever.

Thats why i keep going back to drinking. Its easier than quitting.

My guess is that it's because you are an alcoholic like me and most of us here. And most of us found that we needed to do much more than just "not drink" in order to turn our lives around. Have you pursued any formal recovery programs or perhaps counseling/self help?

Today is a brand new day, and sounds like the perfect day to stop drinking... forever. Per your most recent post, getting back into AA sounds like a good plan. Best of luck to you. You can do it!

Sounds like you did do something you regretted in getting wasted.
It doesn’t need to be this way.

You can do this
