Weekender 22-26 March 2018
Had to wake Mr P up for his evening meal... don't think his earlier beer helped him... he's now on the red wine... hope you guys don't mind me posting about it but it helps me to talk , as I can't really grumble here in the real world, he's on his holiday too.😎 Just feeling a bit delicate and emotional.xx
Thanks. My health.... mentally.... um a work in progress 😂😂
Physically.... being a lady that's turned 40 😉 some things I expected and some really surprised me... dietary issues to name but one.
All inclusive is wasted on me😂😂
Can't do fizzy or sugar or more than 2 coffees... as for food 😂😂😂😂

I think you're doing really well petals.
Enjoyed listening to Neil Young, it's been a while.
I must tip my hat to a woman who gets on the undergound at my stop and at about the same time in the morning (I do not know her) Somehow she manages to apply her makeup immaculately whilst holding the overhead rail with one hand in a packed train . It is as much as I can do to scroll my phone.

It's a skill I do not get at all Sao.....nor do I know why women do it....I kind of want to put on my face BEFORE I go out.....and those women who do their makeup while they are driving.....lordy.

Hi all, I've been absent over the weekend and wanted to catch up so apologies in advance for a long post.
The weekend was a struggle for me mentally at times. As I noted in the March thread, I had some moments of anxiety where I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin if I didn't crawl into an 80 proof beverage.
But I didn't. Yay! And that is largely because of SR. Just thinking about you guys got me to shut AV down. So thanks for (virtually) being there.
Lava! My heart melted when I read that, after all this time, you remembered me and also that I had chronic pain problems. Things just in the past month took a upward turn due to new docs and new meds.
No miracles yet, but I'm able to start to have more than a couple of functional hours a day, and that's a huge improvement.
From what I remember about you was that you were facing some challenges in your efforts to quit drinking maybe because of some things at home? I felt for your situation as I read your posts, but was happy that you (like myself) could come to a place like SR to share and be supported.
I also had the impression from reading your posts that you were a very determined woman, and that if something happened one day or one week that set you back, you would get up and try something different the next time. And the next. And so on. I admired that about you.
I'm so glad our paths have crossed again. I had some real gains when I was on SR last year (basically during the four months leading up to my first greyhound's death) but then stopped staying close and eventually I was spending more time drinking than I was sober.
This time, I'm staying much closer to SR for as long as I can, and being active as time allows.
This is my first Weekender, but I hope to join each Weekenders for a bit so I hope to see you here. Let's make this our time to learn to live a life that doesn't include alcohol!
(And hugs back at 'cha.)
Alysheba, either a dog shelter or wildlife center sounds dreamy! Let us know where you end up. p.s. naps (and rain) rule!
lunar, I'm no arachnologist, so do tell, who is that beauty?
biminiblue, you've posted another song I'm loving. Back to iTunes I go...
Horn95, yay for you! That is definitely a cause for celebration. Break out the fizzy water!!! Hang in there.
saoutchick, I know you can't do it but the woman putting on makeup on the train, now that's a video I'd like to see. I can only imagine. A sudden bump, and the eyebrow liner, whoopsy...
petals, thanks for talking. When you're feeling delicate and emotional, that is the perfect time to talk before something might happen. So chalk one up for your good timing.
Speaking of talking, I've done WAY too much! I'll try to keep up with the thread so I'm not catching up so much.
Thank you everyone, for posting, and being on the Weekender thread. I really enjoy your posts and the energy they bring.
