Day 4 sober

Really chuffed to have reached Day 4. Thinking about wine a lot this evening but I’m going to be strong and get through tonight 😬
I keep thinking about all of the wrong choices I have made whilst being drunk and tbh the disgusting things I have done. I’m not trying to mope but should I think of these things or push them out of my mind? I can’t change the past I guess. Feeling ashamed.

For now I wouldn't worry about anything else other than staying sober. You can deal with those other things later if need be.

Welcome Jotick and best of luck on your journey to sobriety. I felt the same the first few days of my recovery. I got the advice, and it's good advice - try to be as kind and gentle to yourself as you can during these early days. Once you are feeling stronger and have made inroads on your journey, you can start thinking about how to address issues that your drinking has caused, or make amends to people in your life.

Thanks JayTee, also good advice. I’ve taken on board some great advice on here and started a journal, walking and booked for yoga on Saturday, and attending first AA meeting on Friday. How long have you guys been sober?
