76 days and the last 3-4 days my AV is on a tangent. It’s been saying it’ll be okay to drink at the two big events that are this year. And one day won’t send me straight back if I know thats the only day.

I’m having a really hard time with the justifications and the ifs.

When does it actually start to quiet down where it doesn’t come back screaming at you? Because it had been so much more quiet for the last month and then BAM!

My av was active for over 6 months. All the triggrrs...e.g. 4th of july, 3 day weekends, xmas etc etc.

I learned here that it takes 5 years of sobriety to really get the full healing.

I craved today...st patties. But, not much. I went to the casino on my motorcycle.

Had a coffee. Watched March Madness.

I haven't rode my motorcycle in 6 months. It was awesome.

Can't wait to ride more. I stopped for a long time. Agoraphobia and spatial disorientation. Both are pretty much gone now.

Just need to take it easy. My bike doesn't take off fast, but it can reach speeds of over 130 mph very insideously.

Sobriety healed most of my issues. Prostate too. I am going #1 with more power than I can remember. Sorry if seems tmi, but I know there are folks that can relate.

I will never be out of the woods though. Relapse is always possible.

Most of us drank for years readygo - it won't take years for the AV to die down, but it's not going to go away in a few months either.

It resurfacing doesn't mean you're necessarily doing anything wrong - but it's a hardy beggar.

The less you feed it, it weaker it gets.
Don't engage with it and it will die down

there are no free lunches or nights off alcoholism - but the AV will try and convince you nonetheless.

Shut down all communication. Speak to the hand

I catch my AV making me do my work fast so I can finish early.
Then I think to myself hang on I know what’s happening here, where are you running to. Early finish for a drink perhaps?

The moment then turns in to something special, I appreciate the now.
All the good work I am doing
My fitness
My cleaver mind
My financial situation
Sharp as a razor.
Makes me feel a proper unadulterated natural high. Everything is in its place.

So you see, an AV can remind you of how good things really are given time.

Stay strong, keep that guard up.

Not on your nelly! Lovely...id forgotten this expression but my dad used to say it. Brought back some lovely memories of him. Thanks for that.
