A 5-year message

Nothing very profound to say, I'm afraid, and no magic "tips or tricks" to impart. For me, the one simple concept to which lasting sobriety relies has already been repeated many times here on SR: want to be sober more than you want to be drunk -- and do whatever it takes to keep your priorities in that order.

I'm just grateful to be free of the misery and hopelessness of active addiction, and I'm grateful to this extraordinary community for playing such a crucial role in making that possible.

And make no mistake, it IS possible -- for you as well as for me.

I would say that this is a little bit awesome, but it isn't. However, that's only because it is a LOT awesome. Congrats on sobriety and all of the great things that will continue to happen because of it
