Easy does it
I’m 41 days sober. It has been a very revealing time. A lot of emotions, brain fog, guilt, shame, etc. What I’d like to say to other early sobriety celebrants is that you might consider being easy on yourself as you recognize the world around you (how you’ve affected everything, everyone, and yourself!). I know it’s been “about us” for a long time. But may I submit that you are convalescing around in your thought processes and physical body. If possible, attempt to look on the positive side of your new found life (don’t be too critical) and treat yourself as if you are in recovery from an illness (as you well are!), a surgical procedure. Go easy on yourself, heal, get heavily involved in AA, get a sponsor and a bunch of telephone numbers for crisis situations. Glad you're getting well or contemplating being sober.

Welcome and good going on your sobriety!
"Take it easy" is a motto I have come to rely on often as the day's focus, here at 2 yrs just like at 2 mos and in between. Learning to be gentle with myself has been (is) a process. Differentiating selfishness from self-care is also key IME.
