Taking foods for healthy gut after quitting

Hi,
I was wondering what did people do to recover gut health after quitting alcohol and any suggestions on food to take?

Hi, I think that eating a healthy diet is going to help.

It might be best to talk to your dr about what kinds of food to eat or avoid if you have stomach problems.

I had acid reflux disease when I was drinking. Drinking straight from a handle of vodka daily didn't help. I tried the 'purple pill' as prescribed, but realized after reading about it that I would have to take it for life once I began. So I gave it up after a short time.
Anyway, I put up with it for a while. Then the most amazing thing happened. After I quit drinking, my acid reflux disease was miraculously cured - in about six months. Now I eat whatever I want whenever I want, but I did take it easy at first. A simple balanced diet is all it takes really, and staying away from foods that irritate you. Please talk to a doctor about it, but be cautious about committing your life to a pill.

Lots of fruit and veg, probiotic rich foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir, cut back on sugar and animal products
