Thank you
Thank you to everyone here that responds, gives advice and support. I'm waking up on day 52 of recovery after one of the worst nights of cravings I have had since I the first week I got sober.
The thing about these cravings is when they first hit I lose sight of the reasons I initially got sober for. At least during that first week when I was feeling some of the physical impacts of alcohol leaving my system the reasons were still fresh. One of the hardest things is to keep my eye on the prize. The prize being sobriety and reclaiming my life.
Although I took some unisom to help me get some rest last night, I'm glad I'm happy I was able to stay away from the bottle. The bottle is a dangerous place for me. I must never forget that.

Hi Jack. Yes when they come the cravings are awful. And they can still come after weeks of being clean and sober. So glad you didn't succumb. Have a good weekend and keep checking in with us. Take care.
