I like the taste I like the buzz. But all that leads to wanting more.
I have never had counseling or psycs
I just want some opinions on.

We all have various underlying reasons we can blame on drinking too much, but once we are in active addiction the physical stage takes over and the reasons/excuses/underlying issues become almost irrelevant. Personally I needed to become sober first and get the clarity of mind to focus on what I was trying to blot out by drinking.
Best to you!

I know the impulse is to work out why so we can stop...but it really works to just..stop.

Do whatever it takes to stop - whatever you haven't tried try it, whatever you've left to do, do it.

Maybe with some sober time you'll work out the why, or maybe like me you'll realise for you the stopping was the thing, not the why

Thanks vin
I have been having having significant periods without drinking over the last few months. Regained some self control. Not easy by the way.

I don't know why I keep coming back.

Fresh start tomorrow.
Keep on getting better

Maybe because that necessary part of you knows you have to quit? Somehow, and sometime- now can be that time.

Hope to see you here, and sober with us. You can do it and we - and the programs those of us with some sober time work successfully- are here to help.

I didn't have a drinking problem. I had no problem drinking. I was great at it.

Quitting on the other hand, that was my problem. Sounds like it's your problem too.

If, when you start to drink, you have little control over the amount you take , or , if, when you really want to, you find that you cannot quite entirely, then you may be alcoholic.

I am alcoholic, and I identify with your drinking experience.

I don't know why I drink

for me the answer turned out to be very simple:
i was an alcoholic with untreated alcoholism.
