Hi iwilltryagain As Dee says, there are lots of great links on SR to many, many different strategies to not only get sober but to enjoy staying that way too. AA wasn't my bag but thousands of people swear by it. Others choose meditation and still others choose SR, (personally I chose SR, but it is an extremely personal choice and we're all different). The main thing is to pick one, or several, and draw up a plan of attack. Apathy is the enemy.

Please keep us posted . Yix x

With the long weekend coming up maybe focus on spring cleaning or making some healthy meals to freeze for the week? You could get in on some of the sales and get some craft supplies and start an interesting project. One you can look at forever and remember how much strength you have. A visual reminder of your commitment to sobriety.

I'm in the May class and my house is now cleaner than it's been in many, many years lol. I love it so much. Feels like a million bucks. I've also changed some habits like going to the grocery store. I used to go every 10-14 days (always hungover and tired) and buy a lot of processed stuff that wouldn't go bad. Now I go every 3-4 days and buy fresh food. It's less overwhelming and soooo much less work. It makes me feel good to feed myself and my family healthy stuff.

Maybe you could take these days and do something for others. Working in a soup kitchen or homeless shelter? Volunteer work is always needed. Habitat for humanity, the local animal shelter or hospital. I know that the elementary schools in my area are always looking for volunteers. You don't have to be a parent.

We're all pulling for you!

Hey all...Good morning...day 20 no drinks..

Yesterday, was great went for a long drive and while driving back in the evening...the urges and cravings hit so f..in high....i don't know ....i drove to Wisconsin...There is booze every where....streets, roads, and there was a concert which I didn't go...they had booze flowing in water fountains I guess...almost everyone was high walking every where...felt that local govt mandates people to get buzzed on Sundays...lol.
It was not much when i saw all that...but while driving back i was tired and may be a little hungry...that's when urges hit...I regained my real conscious after I ate few candies and gulped down a bottle of sparkling water...Close encounter of my dark mind with me...I survived !...

Thanks halvso, rjyerkes and all...

Halvso, If I can do it you can definitely do it...don't hold back or wait...don't wait to hit a bottom...try before that...because hitting bottom is going to cost and cost dearly sometimes...why wait until then...you are doing a right thing...pick a date...make up your mind and stay there to be sober...be stubborn and do what it takes to be sober. After a while it becomes easier.

Living one day at a time and one moment at a time....have a great Memorial day! Stay-In Sober and Liv-In Sober!...Thank you all for the support...Love and Hugs!
