4 months SOBER as of yesterday !!

I had 7 years sober at one time...but I relapsed and gave it all away. I spent 6 long, hard, painful, miserable years trying to get sober again. Went to 12 rehabs (all in-patient) and two 3/4 houses....and one long-term soberhouse. Nothing worked. I felt hopeless. I was even drinking mouthwash....I was living in motels....life was at an end, it seemed. I had been to all three hospitals in my area about 34 times in 3 months. Most times they would admit me for about 5 days. I was dying. Thats what they told me. I picked myself up one day....got into another rehab....completed treatment there (36 days)....moved into another 3/4 house....and celebrated 4 months sober as of yesterday !! Feels so good to wake up everyday sober...not sick....and not wondering if I can get to a liquor store without passing out....or having a seizure....

This is great news to hear! Congrats on 4 months.. a monumental achievement. And hoping you reach 7 years again!

Keep it going. It's a daily reprieve, right? Keep your eye on the prize.

Well done and congrats!

Thank you..... sadly.. the doctor has told me that I drank myself into having a seizure disorder that I will be dealing with for the remainder of my life. But...thats ok. All the rest of my knobs and switches are working. If you flip a switch...the lights may not come on immediately...but they eventually do...as for the knobs.... not sayin.... ;)
