V, you're so right, RIP Wilbur.

Suze, you have so much love to give and are so thoughtful. You're always there for all of us. Thank you so much.

Home! I'm pooped.

I agree, Wilbur looks like a splended chap, RIP.

Volunteering with the animal shelter is fantastic Alysheba, it's great that there are people like you around, bim's advice is eminently sensible.

Hawkeye, I cannot concentrate on a selfie AND smile at the same time, it is doing two things at once which as a mere man I find beyond me. Thank you for the compliment though.

Harry Potter mania is alive and well 24/7 at Kings Cross station.

Aly that is so cool that you'll be helping at the shelter! I love dogs...I get along with animals much easier than with humans. I'm not allowed pets where I live now, but one day I hope to have plenty of room to adopt

I made it home! Friday evening: getting laundry out of the way, gonna have my chocolate milk, movies and maybe play on Instagram

My college son plus my younger daughter and her 2-y-o son are here for dinner. We found a killer chicken wing recipe last week: bake them 15 minutes on each side, then dip them in a heated mixture of salted butter and Frank’s hot sauce.

To die for!

The vegetable is steamed broccoli with cheddar cheese/sour cream sauce.

I found a secret to help it cling to the broccoli and not get watered down: dump in half a bag of mozzarella.

I caused a minor incident when I was setting the table: I put a glass under the faucet (but on top of the counter). I got distracted with cooking, and I heard an odd gurgling sound.

The water had overflowed the glass and soaked everything on the counters and flooded half the floor! It took 6 towels to mop it up!

All is under control now.

I randomly decided to clean out a filing cabinet in my living room. I found $41 and a perfectly good train ticket. It's funny. I gained money and a ticket I likely would have spent had I gone out drinking.

Anyway, that's gas and pizza money as far as I'm concerned. Today is cheat day (cheating on my diet, not my sobriety) and man do I deserve it.

Here's to a good weekend for everybody!

Happy Friday! Love reading all your posts from around the world. And yay for animal lovers! Sadly my love of animals mixed with alcohol has gotten me into serious trouble in the past. In the south there's so much neglect and abuse, it's hard to take. I used to volunteer at our local shelter but once i got home I would sob for hours. I hope your experience is better Aly.

Currently watching wormwood on Netflix. Made some no bake cookies. Reading some more of "the good house". Hoping to hike tomorrow if these cramps don't get the best of me. Enjoying waking up in a good mood consistently. I used to think i was a grumpy (putting it mildly) morning person but I think it was the lack of alcohol in my system or the desire to get more in asap.

Hope everyone stays positive, is kind to themselves and enjoys a sober weekend.

It says stop what am I doing right now, take some breaths, feel my body, am I holding it tight and tense? Relax… calm down… life is a journey and not a destination, make the journey as glorious as possible.

The second bell is the freedom bell and I'm ringing it for you to let you know freedom from drink and drugs is available to you, come and hear us calling out to you.”

Can you hear it? I can!!!

Welcome to your sober weekend!
