New but positive
Hi all
I'm a 40 year old female. I've always like a drink but have increased to 2 bottles of wine a night over the past 3 years. Sometime 3 a night at the weekend.
Last weekend I drank 3 bottles a night and was so ill on Monday I decided enough is enough. I've had an endoscopy before Christmas that showed gastritis and it's sore again now. I didn't eat and couldn't keep food down at all.
Anyway I'm 2 days (3 nights) in and feeling better. Sleep is disturbed but I feel a lot less anxious.
Actually going to try a proper meal today that's not too heavy on my tummy!

Hey Kamate -
Glad you are here !
Congrats on 3 days sober.
I can tell you.... Your body will LOVE you for not drinking.
I am on day 3 and staying hydrated by drinking lots of water.
Flushing out the "system"..
Soup and crackers are helpful too !

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Today has been fine. No urge to drink and now my children are asleep I'm going to tuck up too and read some of the other threads.
I've no real plan but the way I felt Monday morning is a huge reminder of how I don't ever want to feel again.

It seems the longer I've been sober, the more need I feel to tweak and/or add to my plan. One of the first plans I made was what to do when faced with one of my triggers or a bad crave. One of the reasons I have relapsed before is that I didn't have a solid plan in place. Please think on your plan (or escape route). Hang in there
Welcome Katate! As others have said, you'll be so happy to have made the decision to change your life. Like you, I drank a lot of wine and my hangovers in the end were horrid. Know...they will get worse! Take care of yourself, hydrate, eat and get as much rest as possible. Being sober and free from the clutches of alcohol is truly the best feeling in the world!
