I went to the cabin this weekend.

It’s been hard to get time off from work this past year, but I took Monday off and went to the cabin with the family to get some quiet. But I got a backed up sewer. So I spent a good portion of the weekend clearing the icky side of the pipe. I didn’t sleep well, and ended up feeling irritated inside, even though I maintained externally. I went home Monday, sewer fixed, agitated, back to work today. Just is what it is. Depression is raging....still.....again. Sigh!
Just a thing......

Sorry the break didn't turn out like you planned SF.

I know you're not a Dr fan so I hope that you'll come out the other end of this depression like you did last time

Simply free

You walked into a situation and you overcame it you conquered it you owned it!

Next time you get the opportunity hopefully your meds will have settled in and you won't have the problem that you sorted out this time.

It will be some good family time.

Life throws us some curve balls and they are usually when we don't need them. It's not just you it happens to us all.

Best wishes. Dusty😎

I'm sorry that your weekend at the cabin didn't work out the way you hoped.

It might take a bit longer for your meds to work, and you might need to try a different one. Don't give up trying to treat the depression.

I would have gotten sick multiple times doing that repair job,but you did it. It could have been worse(roots grown through pipe, backed up in the cabin,ect..)so, look at the bright side. You were able to get up there and get it taken care of. A few years ago I got a call from a tenant: "Something's coming up from the shower drain." So, I went over to check it out..walked in the foyer, smell hit me and I walked straight back outside. I tried to snake it to the street(I may get sick thinking back on it) and the snake kept getting 'stuck'..so, I bit the bullet(not that I had a choice) and called in my plumber..Tree root had busted through blocking the flow to the street.. I can't remember what it cost me,but it was close to $5k..I may get sick thinking about that too. But, it's done and over now and next time you go up hopefully you'll be able to relax.

Kind of a good thing you went, even though it was not at all the break you were hoping for.
Left untended, the damage might have been worse, yeah?
I visit my 92 year old mother in her home almost every day.
I always think it will just be a fly by, then God laughs.
Last week we had a glasses emergency. Mom had misplaced them.
I found them pretty quickly.
The REAL search was for her back up pair, which had mysteriously moved from the drawer where I put them to another area of the house.
Took me 45 minutes to locate them.
It’s fine, and is what it is.
I have learned to expect the unexpected.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, it really is helpful. I don’t know what to think of meds. I’ve never stayed with them for more than 3 months in the past. I keep hoping I can paint again, but it never happens. The emotions are too messy and the inspiration to fragile. The last 6 weeks I had lots of music activities, practices and performances, maybe that wore me down and made my depression spike. I always come home beat, singing lead and playing bass, takes lots of emotional energy.
Anyway thanks for your comments, I hadn’t thought much about the med process since I started them.

I have an artist friend, SimplyFree, who stopped painting for several years after a bad breakup move out of the house thing.
She recently started making art again.
Totally changed up her medium, from swiss crayon and hyper realistic portraits to vibrant, saturated water color and acrylic impressions.
Amazing.
Don’t give up hope.
Inspiration, like enlightenment , comes when it comes.
