IÂ’m drunk

Hello all. I don’t have a clue how to work this site. I was looking for instant support via live chat but I’m not sure that this is it. I’m thinking I’m a bit ******, well actually I know I’m a bit ****** but I still am able to function in life and convince those people that surround me that I’m normal. I’m not a huge drinker in terms of quantity but all I know is that, regardless of my situation happy or sad, I have to drink every night. I’m totally aware it’s a problem but i can’t stop. I’ve always been a heavy drinker. I’ve identified all the traumatic reasons in my childhood for it but I don’t wanna blame anyone else anymore. I’d love some insight and empathy to get me through this xx

Welcome to the family. No, this isn't chat, it's a forum. To get to live chat go to the pinkish arrow at the bottom right of the screen. It will say, 'show chat' or 'hide chat'. Once you show it, you can enter the chat room.

This is a very supportive place. I hope we can help you achieve lasting sobriety.

Welcome, and I'm glad you've decided to stop drinking.

It's a good idea to have a plan in place as to how you will stop drinking and begin to recovery.

This link gives you info on various recovery programs and tips from our members:

Thanks!

I've been there. I feel you. Not drinking might be the hardest thing you ever do. It is for me though when I started I never knew its impact on my life. I'm glad you're here.

Not to worry, I am a drunk and was active for thirty years.
I drank nightly, too. Then daily drinker. Then pretty much every waking moment drinker.
I even carried a bottle around with me in a back pack so as to have my supply at hand.
Yes, I am a drunk.
It's just that I haven't drank for eight years. And I was as lowdown, sometimes homeless drinker. Juts slept on friends couches.

But I ramble.
You've found a great place for support. Many of us are abstaining from alcohol.
If I were to drink tonight, I'd be right back at it as I was. I know this so I don't drink one day at a time.

Welcome and stick around.
Best to you.
