Sunday evening and sober

I'm lucky enough now to have been sober for quite a long time and I've been thinking all evening about how great it is to be sober! To not have to deal with all that guilt and darkness and sheer fear of starting the new working week with either a raging hangover or make the dreaded call to work and lie about why I can’t come in.

Quitting alcohol has had so many benefits but this is one I didn't expect - the overwhelming feeling of relief on Sundays never gets old :c032:

I completely agree - that horrible feeling as Sunday evening draws to a close, when we've been drinking since Friday. I'm so thankful we don't live that way anymore, Mac.

So true. There were a lot of Sunday mornings when I’d say NOT TODAY, but then by 1 or 2 o’clock I’d crack the first beer.
